Adjusting the hinges on a Pro-Ject turntable

If you find that the hinges on your Pro-Ject turntable are a bit loose, or a bit more stiff than you'd like, you can adjust them in a few minutes to help the lid move smoothly.

Using a Philips head screwdriver, you can adjust the tightness of the screws that hold the black part of the hinge (see picture below). Tighten them to make the hinge hold tighter, and loosen them for easier movement.

If the hinges movement is still too stiff, you can adjust it further by loosening the grub screw in the centre of the hinge pin (see below). Using a small flathead screwdriver, loosen the grub screw to allow the hinge to move more freely.
